Do some people have a quicker rate of emotional & spiritual growth than others?
I think that some people don not stop amusing me of their rate of development. Some keep growing, that is fabulous. Others grow until they reach static plateau, others deteriorate and keep on deteriorating, and that is also astonishing.
As healthy food-one of many- is a requirement of good physical life, emotional life has to have healthy food in order to keep growing. I do believe that emotions are related to our humanity and one way to keep our emotional life healthy and flourishing is to look into our humanity. It is so important to be able as humans to feel, sense, to be in touch with other sentibeings feelings. Then the focus should be on our human growth instead of emotional growth.
Humans enrich their life by thinking of others.
“Altruism is the ultimate source of happiness”
Dalai Lama instructions.
Others should be other humans or things. Humans who are completely strangers put my believes into the stake. What do I see when I first meet a stranger? What do I look for?
I say to myself repeatedly that I should just keep thinking of others as human’s brothers not brothers in my country or religion or color or race or gender. Humans are humans no matter how they look different. Our humanity must not be strained by any thing whether social, religious or cultural.
I don t know exactly the right way to enrich our humanity. Maybe there is no one right way, but I m confident if there is a common bath that all these ways intersect will be to keep your eyes and soul open for others. If I have a good reception then signals can be from a novel, poem, film, picture, and gesture from a street musician in a sunny day, smile from a child, or “Hi” from old lady in a cloudy morning. Yet, thinking and contemplating these signs is essential in our growth.
Why some people develop faster? They just devote more time to think about these issues, more means to practice their humanity. They might meditate using Buddhism instructions or Marijuana. They might contemplate on the edge of a cliff or in a bus back home after tough work day.
Others don not develop because they did not think of it or may be they think of other things or they don t have enough time. Maybe it is more simple than that : some people have rich internal life ,others don not.

Imagine :
If I collect carefully 70 drops of yesterday’s rain, which would be around 5 ml of pure water, and I convert it into dense, concentrated genuine love. Then I inject it into her beautiful, well made veins under her transparent skin; would that be enough to wait me just few more months?
Would that make any difference in the number of the ovum in her ovaries? Assuming that the number they told us is true and not just another lie: Who is going to heaven: We? Who is going to hell: them? Lies...
I believed always in the equality between men and women and I know that you did but why never put it into acts? We might have gained more than a family.
Truth is always there, just needs some time, long time or couple of herbs and a chance to meditate.

Questions ?
Let s just ask ourselves questions like:
How many mornings do we enjoy sunrise in the pretty cold days?
How many times did we accept, offer bribes while convincing our conscious that what we did is necessary and won t harm any body and might on the contrary help others?
How many days passed without telling a lie, even little unconscious white lies like “ thank you “ when you ve been offered fresh juice in a house you visit for the first time ,twice?
How many nights did we think about others who sleep without roof but the sky, learn from no school but life , wear nothing but pride of a victim ; How many nights without thinking about others who share the same country though they pay the price of been belonging to that cruel place in earth ? of others whom been denied even the label of a victim because they just not from here but from the far “ unknown “ west villages ?
How many nights without thinking about children who are like ours but betrayed by us? Whom been pushed to live in camps for four years? Whom been starved to death by us?
How many donkeys did you see beaten the hell out of it without saying “oh my god “?
How many families live in the down-town of your beloved capital been evacuated or arrested because your country does not want the famous guests of Arab summit to see them begging in the well fabricated modern streets?
How many newly born children been thrown in the nearest dump because of fear of the scandal?
How many life wasted in the long bumpy road to reach the clinic and find no medicine, no doctor, find nothing but the angel of death?
How many wars did our glorious army has to fight our outside enemies but find no one to kill except our own children? And even in these stupid ,cheap wars how many fighters been prisoners longer than the life of their own kids to be released and find no one in their formal reception , to hitch hike to go home because we don t want the world to know that we don t keep war prisoners but our fake enemies do ?
How many times did we say “slave, nigro, abed” to some one, some where? How many times do we accept to hear this same word from friends, families, neighbors without protesting, without saying even a word?
How many days did we think that we will have the heavens but others will not come with us because they did not pray five times like us?
How many times did we think of “us” and “them “?
How many touches lightly approached your soul but you did not notice?
How many person have HIV/ AIDS in your country but I , you and every one we know don t know ?
How many bottles of wine do we have to drink to forget that 94 Pulitzer winner photo was in our beloved country and because of us?
How many time in one day do we put our masks, to hide our shame or maybe to be more attractive, more fake but attractive?
How many atrocities committed in your beloved country and we denied it because we don t know, don t want to know to sleep well in the late night without nightmares?
How many times did you think that we might be just human beings, need love, and compassion, need a home –country with reasonable sincere relationships more than identity to protect us from internal confusion and forever conscious conflicts?
Will I / You prefer to give our children undisputable patriotic feeling and fortune of painful unresolved questions?

Thoughts
I was thinking lately about whether I will be amazed by the development of a nation or a country – Sudan for example if I was away for a long period without a window-press, internet forums- to its internal daily life?
As far as I know, nations do not progress haphazardly or unexpectedly if we are speaking about genuine development in all aspects of life. Progress meant here is positive one as: Improvement of most people quality of life, improvement of indications accepted by today humanity as clues to prosperity.
Nations do change. But they change gradually, slowly but continuously upwards or downwards going. It is not about changing politics or discovering a new rich source of economy, although it might looks in the short term as evolutional changes. Yet, from a future prospect which takes into consideration the life of multiple generations, these changes can result in spikes which may even distort the steady curve of progression.
I will argue that one of the most indicative of nation’s development is the society normal/ common values. The values of a society, regardless of its reference can be explored through interaction with its individuals from different social /economical classes.
When the norms of a society includes bribes, “white” lies, racism or to lesser degree tribalism or when a qualification of competence gives way to qualifications of loyalty whether its political party , tribal , family or friends loyalty; then we can be sure that this particular country or nation – Sudan – is losing its view and way. And in contrast to the short time these values widespread, long time will be needed to reverse this process.
These norms are not related to the right and wrong but related to the accepted daily practise of a society. Abnormal societies can be distinguished from normal one as abnormal people from normal, in which case these societies’ values are norms though still morally wrong. They can be totally immoral even with its own undisputable reference. These values are created by individuals in the first place then adopted by the collective mind as norms then practised by the same individuals without conscious strict moral supervision.
The feeling of guilt is diminished by the psychological subconscious mechanisms aimed to decrease the anxiety to levels compatible with healthy life i.e calling choosing a family member in a job position regardless of professional qualification: Help instead of corruption.
Individuals practise these norms imperceptibly denying that what they claim as corruption in public life is in fact their own corruption. This fact does not automatically mean that once people consciously stop practising these values then life will change in society level. Life is not simple as that. But by doing that we can put the curve of development in its positive x axis.
En bref, the norms of a society will dedicate its progression not its references and in more deep analysis regardless of this reference.

Failure of Sudan state
I just finished a well written paper of Alex De Waal about failure of Sudan state and I think it touched most of the recent sudanese polticial life events lightly , yet In a clever, poweful way that worth reading . Enjoying reading this bright work .
